Anne Pang - Australia's First Lady of Wing Chun
It was the first time that Anne was recognised and described as ‘Australia’s First Lady of Wing Chun’ in Issue 67 of the Wing Chun Illustrated, August 2022. After practising Wing Chun for almost 50 years, it was very humbling for her to have the title.
Being practising Wing Chun since she was 15, Anne loves the art and wishes more people, especially women to be connected and empowered through the arts. To her, it is not just the physical prowess that motivates her for so long.
In her own words, ‘Music heals wounds that medicine cannot touch , self-strengthening of the mind and body, like what we doing now, transforms our being the way science cannot explain.’
Anne hopes that more people can train and spread the art of Wing Chun and benefit from it in so many ways.
However, she always maintains that you don’t have to be a martial artist to be able to defend yourself. That’s why she founded her own system of Anne Pang Self Defence so women of all sizes and statures, of all mental and physical conditions can learn and build their confidence and skills.
