Anne Pang Self Defence Instructors

Supported and guided by the Business Confucius Institute of Victoria University and trained and supervised by Anne Pang Self Defence, seven self-defence instructors graduated on 11 November 2025: Gavin Davies, Giulius Canteri, Kyna Leong, Tina Hargitay, Nikol Davies, Panage Kontos and Lea Schmidt.
It was truly inspiring to witness the graduation of these dedicated and highly skilled martial artists, some have been training for over 30 years, while others have more than 20 years of experience teaching Kung Fu.
On the 11 November, they undertook a gruelling examination that tested both their physical abilities and mental preparedness to become instructors. During physical component, they were blind-folded and required to defend themselves against grappling attacks with their eyes closed. In the self-awareness component, they completed both a written assessment as well as a verbal examination, demonstrating how they would react to safely exit potentially dangerous situations without relying on any techniques.
With a deep passion to empower women and children to build their confidence and increase their level of personal safety, these instructors will now eagerly seek to open classes across Melbourne and regional areas.
