Anne Pang Self Defence is a Not-for-Profit organisation and a Social Enterprise, often offering free services to support and empower disadvantaged women.
We support NFP community groups by providing voluntary services, particularly those dedicated to disadvantaged women and children.
Since arriving as a migrant in Australia in the 1907s – without a word of English during the White Australia Policy era, Anne Pang has developed a passion for supporting new migrants and refugees.
The Anne Pang Self Defence team of instructors is multilingual, speaking Chinese mandarin, Chinese Cantonese, Vietnamese, German and Greek.
We collaborate with many not-for-profit community groups to support and empower women – physically and mentally – helping them build confidence, pursue their goals, and integrate successfully into their new host country.

We have designed and delivered programs in collaboration with a diverse range of community groups representing different faiths, cultures, languages and ethnicities.
Over the past 30 odd years, it has been our honour to provide empowerment training to women of diverse backgrounds and to watch them grow and thrive, knowing that these skills and mindset help them become more independent and self-reliant, taking meaningful steps toward economic and mental autonomy and freedom.
It is essential that we work closely with community groups and remain culturally sensitive and appropriate to their needs. We communicate with the group leaders to understand the protocols and customs that must be respected and tailor our programs accordingly.
Gender-Based Classes:
Traditionally, these classes have been offered exclusively to females.
Workshop

We can cater to small group of women at a time, allowing both clients and community organisers to train together. This approach often works very well, as having co-ordinators train with their clients helps fostering team spirit and morale.
If none of our instructors speaks group’s native language, we often rely on very simple language and physical demonstrations to communicate key points, and we may seek assistance from group members with more English proficiency to support translation.

Courses (Essential & Intermediate level)
A Course of 4 (Essential Level) or 7 to10 (Intermediate Level) classes
